FLEX STUDY SYSTEM

The #1 reason people will fail their State Exam is "LACK OF SUFFICIENT STUDY TIME!"

It had been traditional for many years for schools like ours to hold a live lecture series in order to relay the subject matter that was to appear on the State Exam. However over the years we discovered this type of method really inhibited our students from passing their tests and posed some serious problems. First, students would often miss classes because class scheduling was inconvenient. Secondly, students were "dragging the program out too long," causing them to forget the information they had learned in the beginning sessions. The biggest draw back was that they could listen to the presentation only one time.

Keep in mind everything you do in order to prepare for this exam doesn't really train for any of the Real Estate fields. Approximately 90% of the information you really never use again, although you will be provided with a basic understanding of real estate terms, laws and procedures.

State Exam: 150 multiple-choice question & answer quiz

The information you will learn is comprised of subject matter and terminology and is easier to comprehend than most of our students have anticipated. However it covers a huge scope of information that will need to be memorized. To help each of our students to accomplish this task, we have perfected a study process that provides the use of materials that can virtually be reviewed anytime, anywhere!...We call this our FLEX STUDY SYSTEM!

QUALIFYING TO TAKE SALES EXAM

The DRE (Department of Real Estate) currently requires that three (3) courses be completed prior to scheduling a testing date. Two are mandatory: PRINCIPLES and PRACTICE. The third (3rd) is an ELECTIVE (we offer a choice of DRE Approved Courses in: Appraisal, Ecomonics, Escrow, Finance, Law [Legal Aspects], Mortgage Loan Brokering or Property Management). The DRE may grant a waiver to taking a specific course(s) if you have already taken it/them and have proof of completion in the form of either a Certificate of Completion from a private school or transcript(s) from a college or university. There are also waivers for the elective course, if having taken an approved course in Macro or Micro Economics, General Accounting or Business Law. For other possible waivers go to the DRE website at DRE.CA.GOV.

COMPLETION TIME FOR EACH COURSE

We provide the required courses through the use of DRE Approved "Home Study" programs. These courses are by far the quickest and most convenient way to complete this portion of your studies. Each course is "self-paced" and for those motivated, each separate course can be completed in as little as 2-1/2 weeks. Those wanting to take their time have up to 1 year to complete the course(s).

Step 1. READ EACH COURSE TEXTBOOK. Although several textbooks are available for use in providing the Principles course, we specially selected the textbook authored by Walt Huber. Although Principle's textbooks and Principle's courses are not written for the purpose of preparing students for the State License Examination, Mr. Huber has taken the time to include in his book, more information specific to the State License Examination than any other text currently available. He has also gone to the added expense of printing the topic areas specific to the License Exam in a different color ink so they are easily identifiable. This allows students to focus in on those subjects required for the State exam and to eliminate those subject areas that will not be covered. It's a time saver! And provides a more effective study program!

Step 2. COMPLETE READING ASSIGNMENTS. There are 15 reading assignments for each individual course with a short quiz after each assignment. Answers to the assignment questions are provided along with the course and therefore are not submitted to the school for grading.

Step 3. TAKE THE FINAL EXAMINATION FOR THE COURSE. The final examination for each course final may be taken anytime 2-1/2 weeks from date of enrollment. The final is OPEN BOOK and only requires a 60% grade or better to pass. We currently have some finals online, others may require a faxed final to a third party. However we anticipate all finals being online very shortly. If needed, the third party monitor can generally be anyone other than a person related to you by blood or marriage. EXAMPLE OF SCHEDULING FINALS IF TAKING MORE THAN ONE COURSE: Example, taking 3 courses. You would become eligible for one final 2-1/2 weeks after enrolling, the 2nd final after 5 weeks, and the third, after 7-1/2 weeks from the date of enrollment.

Step 4. SEND IN TO SCHEDULE A DATE FOR THE STATE EXAMINATION. Upon successful completion of each course taken, the school provides a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION identifying the course title and the DRE course approval number. When completing all three courses, apply to the DRE for your state exam. It will usually take between 4 to 6 weeks before you will taking your exam. NEXT STUDY TO PASS THE STATE EXAM.
